Seniors/Domestics Home Care Agency was initially established in February 1983 as WALKERS INDEPENDENT EMPLOYMENT AGENCY. The operation was out of Nancy Walker's home on the Fort Fairfield Road in Presque Isle, and was funded with $500.00 from her savings account.
The first home care contract was signed in May of 1983, with the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging who was the distributor of funds and responsible for Case Management for the Bureau of Elderly Services.
In 1986, the business was moved to 520 Main Street, Presque Isle, and remained there until 2010, when it was relocated to 31 Maple Street, Presque Isle, Maine.
In 1993, DUNROVIN ENTERPRISES, INC. became the corporate name for the Company and SENIORS/DOMESTICS became the d/b/a for the home care entity for the corporation. At this time, Personal Care Attendants and Home Makers were the primary function of the corporation
In August of 1998, the Corporation was licensed by the State of Maine to include Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nurses Aides as additional disciplines for the home care program.
The Company was sold to Blossom Cyr, RN on April 1, 2008. The Mission of Seniors/Domestics has remained the same.
In December of 2020, a sister company to Seniors/Domestics, was established. Vital Nursing Supplies, located at 686 Main Street in Presque Isle, is in the business of selling Nursing Diagnostics, Scrubs from various vendors, Sanita clogs and misc. novelty items.
Over the years, SENIORS/DOMESTICS has seen many changes as it grows. It has never, throughout its duration, veered from its first philosophy "To assist our clients in maintaining their independence at home with the best support possible; and to ensure their quality of life is as full and productive as they are capable of."
Its employees have made the success of SENIORS/DOMESTICS possible. They are devoted to their assigned clients and strive daily to ensure they are giving their best to the task at hand. The Company recognizes their dedication and are grateful for their services.
